The main useful drop from zulrah is the magic fang which is useless unless you have the trident anyway. There aren't a whole lot of early/mid game reasons to use a blowpipe, especially if you have (or are planning to get) a bowfa. The main uses are for jad, demonics, and shamans. All this is to say, the most important thing about learning Zulrah is to not get discouraged. This is a difficult and punishing boss to learn, especially if you're doing it without access to a trident or other important pieces of gear. I would generally try just 2 attempts per day or so, and found myself improving quickly.
Here and there I'll do a touch of skilling towards diary, but I really enjoy pvm the most. In the past week or 2 I've tacked on 4-500 hydra kills. It's my favorite pet, so I've always wanted to get it anyways and green log hydra. It's also good money. I love doing zulrah and Sara too, so I don't think I'll get bored, but it's always a possibility.
