New ...it's because you used the save file that already had the maximum hearts/stamina. there is probably a separate value in the files that disables upgrading completely once you reached the maximum. just make a fresh save file and edit that instead. or just use the editor to manually give you the upgrade. Next time make a backup that is external maybe, hope it works out for you some way. Make a fresh istall, update the game and dlc's and only move your mlc01 usr save file.

BOTW is an immensely complex game, and there are a number of new mergers that could be written. If you find an aspect of the game that can be complicated by mod conflicts, but BCML doesn't yet handle it, feel free to try writing a merger for it and submitting a PR.What I have created is a program (Breath of the Wild Save File Mapper) that can read much of the important information stored in BoTW's save files, as well as edit it. There are other BoTW save file editors out there, but I don't believe any are as extensive as mine, and it's open source, so anyone can help improve it further.
