The finish is a bit rough looking, and it is just a li'l bit narrower the the 709's grip, but not so you'd actually notice while gripping the gun.

Just cleaned up a badly neglected PT709 for a friend and feel exactly as you do. Nice size & weight for an 8 shot 9mm. Terrible trigger.Taurus should do away with the "second strike feature". Totally useless. Why you would drop the hammer on a round that didn't fire the first time is beyond me.
