Depending on the game, activate the Amiibo reading and voila, you should see how the juice recognizes the Amiibo reading. You can go back to the JoyCon Droid selection menu and select another .bin file to read a different Amiibo.
The thing that tripped me is you have to use the emulator to initiate the scan at the ATM. Use the real controller to walk up to the ATM and then use the emulator to navigate the menus. I think if you don’t do this then the Switch will try to scan from the real controller and ignore the emulator’s amiibo.
