Switched from the Mathews Vertix to a 80lb Hoyt VTM 34. Couldn’t be happier with the balance of the bow, overall speed, and groups so far. Just ordered a quivalizer to try something new this year. Primarily hunt spot and stalk in south central ND.

My takeaway was I didn't like the way the matthews fit my hand. It felt a little top heavy, not crazy but kind of noticeable and could've used a back bar. The vtm 34 was awesome at anchor bc it felt less scrunched up but I could literally feel my pinky shake with the shot like vibrating.Messages. 49. Never thought I would see the day I bought a Mathews over a Bowtech or Hoyt, but here we are. All three are top notch. I couldn't justify the price for the RX-8, so I looked at the aluminum riser model that's basically the same bow (Ventum I think?), but it has almost the identical specs to the Mathews. So it ultimately came down to the features and the longgggg riser of the Phase 4 33. I already have a dovetail rest and that worked better with the Mathews.

I'm looking to go down to a 50# bow (old man with old shoulders, lol) and have not liked the recent offerings from Mathews at all. Last week I spent a while shooting my AU along side a used 50# Traverse I picked up and a new Phase 4 33 turned sown to 55#.
