I use a PS4 controller that's recognized on steam and i can use it on steam, but is completely unrecognizable when I open apex. I've spent days trying to fix this, but everyone says the same thing.

there are content creators who use configs with controllers and apex doesnt ban them. Yea, unfortunately this has been an issue as content creators have been caught cheating, banned and then eventually unbanned. Whereas ordinary players would never be unbanned. Some content creators even got just a warning.

Something to add on top of all the other suggestions, I'd recommend clicking on properties on Apex in your steam library and in the general tab go to "set launch options" and copy and paste +fps_max unlimited there to uncap the framerate, it might help.
