Maestro gets a huge amount of exp boost on skilling. He will catch up to your miner (plus the whole Crystal Countdown thing). But catching up to level 30 is a lot easier than catching up to level 60. Focus on getting some class levels on your Squire for a while (which makes his mining better anyways). Let your MMan catch up.
