Overview. The Book of Enoch is an ancient Jewish religious work, traditionally ascribed to Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah. It was first discovered in Africa (Ethiopia) in the mid 1700's and then also found among the Dead Sea Scrolls. The first part of the Book of Enoch describes the fall of the Watchers, the angels who fathered the Nephilim.
