It seems that if after all answers there are two inclinations with the same value (i.e. a tie between 2nd and 3rd), the game chooses one from the top of the list to be second (you can still change 2nd inclination with chair). For example (real story): I wanted Medicant/Utilitarian pawn from start. Best answers for it are 2-4-4-1.
And challenger seems like a far more passive inclination when set to secondary. My pawn will still focus on the stronger enemy in the room even if there is a magic user nearby. A friend of mine mentioned that me making my pawn a Fighter would be a goood thing. And he mentioned that "Mitigation" as primary inclination, and Pioneer as Secondary was pretty good for a Fighter Tank. Now after having created my main pawn I had to answer 4 questions that apparently would set my Pawns Primary and Secondary inclinations.
The top 5 inclinations are: Utilitarian, Mitigator, Challenger, Scather, and Medicant. Utilitarian makes pawns work together better, use utility skills more often, and behave better against enemies they have knowledge of. Mitigator makes pawns focus the "weakest" enemies first.

If your pawn's primary was heavily entrenched, it may take a few. Use the "Go!" command during combat a lot, that will increase the Scather inclination which is the agressive one. Save crystal rifts and buy the required potions, this is the only way to make it fast.

No matter what inclination you have there is no true tank class and enemies will continue to just thrash about attacking anything willy nilly. Shield Drum is supposed to attract monsters to the pawn if they use it, but it never works and ultimately just ends up wasting your time and your pawns time when they'd be better off attacking.Utilitarian Prime is good if your Pawn has mostly 3 star Bestiary knowledge.
