yup. Its probably a connection problem with the wire that plugs into the board behind the light. try and clean the plug. Had this in a '99 IH with ISM. Turned out to be the water temp. sensor. FLD's are notorious for giving bogus warnings at the top of the dash due to bad connectors or sensors.

The 2 wire sensor is the intake air temp sensor. The 3 wire sensor is the Boost pressure sensor. Thr boost has nothing to do with the intake heater. The other sensor is the coolant temp sensor. It is located in the top of the block on the drivers side. It ia a 2 wire sensor as well.Test the High-Pressure Relief - This is fairly simple with an advanced scan tool. Just command the regulator up to achieve max fuel pressure. This should be somewhere around 27,500 psi. The relief valve is a calibrated mechanical spring that opens to return fuel back to the fuel filter, thus limiting max fuel pressure.

The C7 engines use a heavier relay. The earlier relays are to small to carry the 90+ amp load. On the 3116/3126 engines we have been using the Blue Bird relay that is used for the body heater/light functions. It does require replacing the terminal ends with something much heavier. The intake heater solenoid is ground controlled from the ECM. The power supply for the relay , heater and lamp are OEM. Check the ground strap at the rear of the cylinder head to ECM.
