In initial brightness, I believe the edge goes to the Seiko. But after 7 hours of sleep (or thereabouts), the Citizen appears to me to retain more luminosity. If your watch had 40 tubes you could pay close to $500 to replace those tubes in today's dollars. Now people havent had this tritium for 20 years and Nobody knows how much they will truly fade.I've only seen passing references to this new lume Seiko supposedly has out. It's supposed to be an improved version of their current lume and it is said to last 60% longer than the current stuff. So far, I only know of one watch using it: the SBDX014 (Ceramic shrouded Tuna). Needs to have usable lume, not something that is useless in 30 min--that is the main requirement. No smaller than 38mm, but prefer at least 40mm. Highly legible watches typically also have good lume, but you might look at more traditional marine watches that are influenced by traditional marine chronometers.
