I heard about this from a few people above me so I just spent half the time studying UWorld medicine questions and the other half doing surgery questions. I’ve been using UWorld Shelf Mode for surgery shelf for about 3 weeks and have been consistently between 40-65% on blocks of about 10-20 questions. Is this normal and part of the curve? DeVirgilio's is case files on steroids for surgery. I never got anything out of case files but DeVirgilio got me a 90% or something on the surgery shelf.

TBH, after buying those practice exams, I don't find the NBME explanation super helpful. Most of the time, they give you a 1-liner reason for why the answer is right and then repeat that 1-liner in the "concept to learn" portion at the end of the explanations.
