A bitter aftertaste for me. There are actually a few different Mt. Dews that have that bitter aftertaste, but I think it's what keeps Sweet Lightning from becoming a bigger flavor. The old fruit punch flavored one they used to sell at 7-11 (Solar Flare, I think) was the same way.

The good news is that there are about 15 other flavors out now if you search. Although I’ve been drinking Mountain Dew for 35 years, I just sorta got wrapped up in it this month. Now I have over a dozen flavors on my dining room table, and am trying to convince family to go to some local restaurants to try a couple more.
It's a real pity, 'cause if it weren't for the sucralose bitterness, it would be up there as a favorite.
