I picked up a gsg-firefly a couple weeks ago as a "fun gun" i.e. a little range puppy I could use on the cheap during range day. After 500 rounds... I'm done with this thing. Here are the issues that have brought me to this conclusion (sharing so others can avoid it) 1. It is real finicky about what will cycle it well.

Put another 300 rounds thru the Firefly today at the local range. Had 3 failures to fire, but I think it was the ammo (Fiocchi) and not the gun. All 3 had the firing pin imprint on the primer rim, I reloaded them and they all fired the 2nd time around. They did not all come from the same loaded mag, but dispersed throughout the 30 mag loads I used.

When I first got it I though the firing pin seemed a bit broad and so as part of my on-going work to refine the GSG to perfection I carefully stoned the pin to narrow its nose down to the same thickness as other .22's I own. First step is to remove a redundant safety feature on this rifle and in turn remove some material that causes undue friction in the trigger pull. This feature is a firing pin cross bolt, located in the bolt itself. The owner removed the firing pin assembly from the slide and removed some material on the firing pin where the travel was being stopped by the housing, allowing the pin to travel farther.
