The players have 2ish days to explore the island, challenging other teams to battles, finding treasure scattered across the island, and battling the creatures and hazards inhabiting the island. Each hex is comparatively small, taking about half an hour to travel through and another half hor to explore each.

This is largely do to things like the Unrest mechanic, which can severely punish the whole group for an improper order of operations (by a single player). Paizo publicly admitted to never actually playtesting KM 2e, and it shows. Kingdom Management with RAW will most likely make some players completely tune out.
